The pin oak tree, that is thought to be 70-90 years old, was one of the driving forces behind the massing of the building. The amalgamation of the traditional forms and natural materials with contemporary design philosophy is an attempt to recall the history of the site, while emphasising the transition from past to present.Natural cedar with tones of green on various building elements is intended to echo with the featured pin oak tree. The leaves of pin oak are green, then red and finally yellow before the fall. To signify this journey tones of green, red and yellow ochre are used in controlled fashion throughout the building.Interior journey make seamless transition from larger volumes (family spaces) into the smaller volumes (intimate & personal spaces).The house is also designed for the future, it has achieved 5-Star Life Mark rating.
